The ultimate guide to celebrating Christmas in and around Keynsham

Here's our guide to 18 places in and around Keynsham to eat out and party with family and friends during the festive season.

The Old Manor House at Keynsham will launch its festive menu on December 1. A two-course meal at lunchtime is £17.95 while three courses is £21.95. A three-course evening meal is £24.95. The hotel is fully booked for Christmas Day.

The Ship Inn in Temple Street is offering a festive menu for lunchtimes and evenings from November 27. A two-course meal is £18 and three courses £21.50. The pub will not be serving food on Christmas Day.

The Lock Keeper is already fully booked for Christmas Day but is doing a three-course festive menu during the party season at £20.95 a head.

The two Vintage Inns in our area - The Brassmill at Keynsham and The Globe at Newton St Loe, are doing three-course festive menus starting from December 1, priced at £17.95 at the Brassmill and £19.95 at The Globe.

Christmas Day at The Brassmill is £47.95 a head and £49.95 at The Globe (£25 for under-10s at both inns).

Irish-Italian restaurant Farrells' festive menu will be served from December 1. The lunch menu is £7.50 for one course, £10.50 for two or £13.50 for three. The two-course evening menu is £18.50 and the three-course £26.50. The restaurant is not opening on Christmas Day.

Grasmere Court Hotel on the Bath Road is doing a three-course festive lunchtime and evening menu from December 1 (£16.95 and £21.95 respectively). Christmas Day at the hotel is already fully booked.

From December 1 The Wine Bar in Keynsham High Street will be runnning a Christmas menu - it's £18 for two courses and £22.50 for three. Prices are the same for lunchtime and evening. The restaurant is not opening on Chrismas Day.

Christmas party nights at Chewton Place at Chewton Keynsham include a three-course meal with coffee and mince pies and then a disco. Prices vary for different nights of week but all come in at under £30.

The Talbot Inn begins serving festive fare on November 20. A two-course menu is £10.99 and three courses cost £12.99. Children's festive menus start from £5.99.

The Christmas Day menu at The Talbot is £37.99 a head (£11.99 for children).

The Bird in Hand in Saltford starts serving Christmas fare on November 26. £16.50 lunch menu and £23.50 evening menu. The menu runs until December 21, excluding Saturdays and Sundays

Elston's @ 507 in Saltford is offering a £60-a-head Christmas Day menu (£35 for children). The restaurant is also serving festive fare from December 3 to December 21, excluding Saturday nights, at £24 a head.

The Jolly Sailor pub at Saltford starts its festive menu at lunchtime and in the evening on December 1. It's £18.95 for a two-course meal and £24.95 for three courses. The pub is not serving food on Christmas Day.

Its sister pub, The Riverside in Saltford, is also serving a festive menu during December -  £12.95 for two courses and £15.95 for three, rising to £15.95 (two courses) and £19.95 for three courses on Fridays and Saturdays when there is live entertainment. The Riverside is fully booked on Christmas Day.

The New Inn  at Farmborough has a five-course Christmas Day menu at £59.95 a head (children under 12 £15).

The Compton Inn at Compton Dando is doing a festive season menu at £22.50 a head while The Upton Inn at Upton Cheyney has a festive menu at £27.95 per person (under-10s £15) available from November 25 to January 10.

And The Swan at Swineford has a three-course festive menu at £22.50 available from December 1 to January 15, not including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.

For something a bit different, the Bowlplex down the road at Aspects Leisure Park in Longwell Green offers special Christmas bowling parties that have already started!
