    NORTH Somerset officials are raising funds for the resurrection of Farmborough cricket ground, near Keynsham, by walking the best part of 30 miles to visit eight clubs on Sunday. Secretary Malcolm Buck, chairman Dave Millard and finance director Peter Haigh will meet at Whitchurch at 8.30am, visiting Stanton Drew, Chew Magna, Chew Stoke, Winford, Blagdon and Harptree and, finally, getting to Farmborough by 7.45pm.

    TeamBath’s Jo Thompson finished as runner-up and top veteran in the Gloucester Half Marathon. Thompson clocked 83mins 09secs, which, amazingly, was exactly the same time as she recorded in Bath in March. The race was won by Westbury Harriers’ Emma D’Alton in a personal best 79:57.
