Saltford Stragglers lost their latest away game when they went down 4-1 at Henbury Golf Club. The one bright note was that the only point scored by the visitors was when "young" debutants Peter Jeffreys and James Flew scored a convincing 6 and 5 win. Saltford Stragglers lost a close contest by 3-2 at Lansdown Golf Club. After winning one game each with two games halved, it all came down to the last game which saw the visiting pair of Chris Reeves and Colin Salvage beaten 4 and 3. NORTH Somerset officials are raising funds for the resurrection of Farmborough cricket ground, near Keynsham, by walking the best part of 30 miles to visit eight clubs on Sunday. Secretary Malcolm Buck, chairman Dave Millard and finance director Peter Haigh will meet at Whitchurch at 8.30am, visiting Stanton Drew, Chew Magna, Chew Stoke, Winford, Blagdon and Harptree and, finally, getting to Farmborough by 7.45pm.
