We went to this restaurant having heard great reviews. In total all twelve of us were disappointed as the meal and service was not up to standard. We waited over an hour for the starters to arrive which were good. The main courses were a real let down. The sauces were watery and had no taste an were cold. In all our bill was £75 per couple, which was a let down. I did not eat my main course as it was tasteless. We had booked with other friends to go there the next week. We cancelled this booking the next day due to our experience.

Fine dining Indian sister restaurant of the excellent award winning Myristica in Bristol. Based within the Grange Hotel in Bath Road.

Since writing my review, which I wrote in haste, I've since had a very nice email from the Manager saying how truly sorry they are for ruining our evening. There were circumstances on that evening where a large party arrived late and the knock on effect of this was an unfortunate experience for all. As things were not up to their usual standard they stated how truly sorry they are.
They have offered to invite us as their guest to show that what happened was a one off on not their usual standard.
How refreshing in today's commercial world. Once we've been again, we'll update on our experience.
So for now 5 stars for taking the time to get back to us. This Manager obviously cares.

Cold restaurant and cold service both during and after a terrible evening. 14 days after visiting, despite contacting them with feedback, they cannot even manage to say sorry for spoiling my husband's Birthday. They claim to be different and offering a high class and quality dining experience but I've had better service at MacDonalds! Save your money and go to the Cinnamon up the road. They couldn't recommend or advise on dishes, brought the wrong drinks.. There were 3 of us eating 2 adults and a 5 year old & they failed to bring my main dish. This arrived 20 minutes after my husband who had finished his - my side dishes had gone cold. The 2nd drinks were ordered but mine took 10 minutes to arrive after my husband's. We had to practically walk out to get to pay the huge £75 bill for a 3 course meal for 2 with 2 drinks. It took them 2.5hrs to serve us if you can call it serve. Our poor child was exhausted by the time we got home - we'd arrived at 6pm and left just before 9pm after begging to be allowed to leave by paying - I wished I'd just walked out. We'd booked in advance & advised why we were dining early. Now we are polite, decent and smiling people but this was not recipriocated. In fact I felt like I should be teaching them about customer service. Having written to them with feedback about our poor experience, 2 weeks later, they're still looking into it but no utter of an apology. Now an apology is not an admittance of guilt but a way of saying "I'm sorry you were made to feel like that". We weren't alone given the comments of other diners who were leaving at the same time as us. Perhaps they could learn from this review and realise that the local people expect more than a half hearted attempt at being a first class restaurant but feeling it is ok to give a second class service both in terms of food, attitude and price.

Wow, what a total contrast to the other local Indian restaurants. Unusual menu with subtle spices and a few of the favourite curry house dishes thrown in! Beleive me this not a normal curry house. Our first time and we wanted to try some of the different dishes and the waiter organised a tasting menu for us of three course's at £19.95. We even got the poppodoms & pickles! we were given the rabbit, squid, kebab and a veg starter which I cant rembeber the name of. For mains it was selection of curry's with various rice and breads brought to our table so we could all share the different dishes. Finally the desserts are really good, not the usual laminated menu with items straight from the freezer. Drinks wise not as expensive as I thought it would be Large 660ml Cobra was £4.45 which is a lot cheaper then having a bottle half that size for £3.00 elsewhere! Enjoy!
Recently visited this failrly new addition to the local reastaurant scene with another couple using a Groupon style coupon special deal. Food was very good and the service attentive withonly a small faux pas by a probably inexperenced staff member that was corrected quickly. Only real comment is that the drinks were on the pricey side and whilst not excessive (the drinking that is...) the food element was less than the drinks on the bill.
