Please do let us know about your exhibtiion, Boxtrees. I'm sure people would love to see your pictures - I just had a look at your site - what great shots. I especially liked the atmospheric ones and the one lookjng up at the sugar silos is great.
And please let us know if you have any other pictures of Keynsham, Saltford, Willsbridge, Bitton you'd like to share with us. The picture galleries on this site are very popular.
I was fortunate enough to be allowed access to the site for photography (mainly externally) during the final months of Somerdale's operation. This project resulted in a book (details on my website below) and an exhibition in June. Plans are afoot to hopefully exhibit some of this work again somewhere on the Keynsham High St in the not-too-distant future. Will keep you posted.
I agree, Gambit, greenery makes a huge difference to a housing estate and I think the quality of life for people on it. If nothing else, I hope at least the avenue of trees can be saved. It's rather lovely.
Good idea Joanna! In the worst case scenario, people will be able to show their children what it looked like before it became just another housing estate.
If it is used for housing it would be good if they could keep the more established trees and some of the greenery to soften the edges. I drove through a new estate recently where the developers had built round the existing greenery and included it in gardens and roadsides and it makes a surprising difference to the overall look.
