SIGNPOST TO THE HIGH STREET-NOW!!

I have been interested in the saga of where Tesco signage went up and then came down, and am prompted in a move to support our great HIGH STREET-with signs close by to Tescos showing out of town visitors, where we are,and with some carefully placed advertisements,we can attemopt to draw customers to our "local" as opposed to national shops. In this build up to Christmas -and the rather hackneyed phrase"season of goodwill", I think, and accept I might be alone, but worthy of debate and ACTION.

I hope that with the introduction of Tesco to Keynsham, people will shop a little bit more locally. They may go to Tesco to get their weekly shop but instead of going ot near by longwell green and shopping around there, hopefully they will shop around in Keynsham. I do worry for stores like the Spar and Newsagents on the high street now though. I would be sad to see the high street newsagent suffer.

ReportI agree but at the same time why pay more for the same items! for example little local retailers are fantastic if you waant a 1-1 personal service but isnt todays market all about price?? at the end of the day IF people didnt use the big guns like Tescos ect then they would not keep expanding just look at Tescos, tescos Extra, Tescos Home, Tescos Bank, Tescos Baby, Tescos Express any more??? in years to come Tescos will be everything.

ReportDefinitely, local shops are the lifeblood of local communities. Tesco saps that lifeblood so we should make a point of supporting our local shops and using our High St, if you don't use 'em, you lose 'em!!
