Keynsham shoppers urged to support local shops

Shoppers in Keynsham are being asked to stay local by shopping on their high street.
Bath & North East Somerset Council has been working with local traders on the Keep it local: Keep it Keynsham campaign and have arranged a special day on September 12 to show all that is on offer.
There will be selected shop discounts, the monthly farmers' market from 9am until 1pm featuring new arts and craft stalls and an interactive art workshop, the Roundabout Arts trail returning for its second year and a family competition.
There will also be street entertainment and talks by local authors.
The event is part of a wider campaign to highlight the facilities, businesses and organisations the area has to offer.
Councillor Terry Gazzard (Conservative, Abbey) cabinet member for development and major projects, said: "The campaign is important to ensure our high street and local community goes from strength to strength. Using your local town centre instead of driving to an out-of-town store can save you money on fuel, reduce your carbon footprint and improve your own health."
Keynsham's website www.keynsham.co.uk provides a database of all businesses operating in Keynsham and Saltford, including information about groups and organisations, events and news.
