Broadlands School is putting together a special show to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

Pupils and staff af the school in St Francis Road are asking former pupils (of which I was one 1959-61) to share their stories and reminiscences for the show to mark the anniversary later this year.

The show will be the focal point of the celebrations which will feature the school's history decade by decade from the 1930's though to the present day.

Amanda Connell, one of the organisers, said: "Tales might be funny, sad, poignant, mysterious, in fact anything that you can remember that might be of interest to us.

"When you contact us we will arrange a mutully convenient time to speak to you and find out more about your stories. We hope it will be possible for some of our current students, who are interested in finding out more about the history of Broadlands, to interview people to."

I remember science teacher Mr Skidmore making a film of the school to celebrate its Jubilee. It was so unusual for that to happen in 1960 that it featured on the national BBC Children's newsreel and we had our picture on the front of the Keynsham Chronicle (May 7, 1960) as we filmed in the Roman Baths in Bath.

If you have a story to tell, please contact the school on 0117 986 4791 or by e-mail: aconnell@broadlands.bathnes.sch.uk.
