Keynsham a dump? I don't think so!

The novelist Lesley Pearse has described Keynsham as "a dump". Anyone else offended?
The remark was made by Pearse on Twitter, the micro-blogging site. The author, who lives "near Bath" according to her Twitter account, told her 900-plus followers|: "Off to the huge metropolis of Keynsham. I am so excited I can hardly wait. That was sarcasm. A dump and you have to pay 40p to park".
Here are 10 things that are great about Keynsham that I came up with in about two minutes. I'm sure you can add your own.
1. It has its own music festival every year
2. The Victorian Evening
3. Good schools
4. Top shops
5. A brand new coffee house that everyone's talking about, as well as other great cafes
6. The Fry Club
7. The skateboard park
8. Keynsham Leisure Centre
9. A train station - you can be in Bristol or Bath in minutes
10. A friendly, vibrant community
Proud of Keynsham? You bet!
Next time you come, Ms Pearse, park for free at Tesco for two hours if you begrudge paying 40p.
(though actually I think 40p is a bit steep myself).

How rude! I think Keynsham is an ok place, the shops are not bad and the staff in most of the shops are polite and helpful. The Victorian Evening was fantastic this year the only down side is having to pay to park. I think they should look to scrap the charge.

ReportI don't live in Keynsham but go there at least two or three times a week for shopping and to see family and I was pretty angry too to hear it being called a dump. OK the High Street is not postcard pretty but it's a friendly town with good facilities.
I have not read anything by this author but I think Keynsham people should boycott her books if there are any in the town library!

ReportI would add -great Scout Group, with many members and dedicated leaders meeting in an expanding headquarters .Great park for excellent walks beside the River.2 good secondary schools-one recently saved from mad closure plans, and now achieving great academic results, and more.Access to so much more by footpaths-worth exploring.Clearly her notes were written ,only vrtry limited view,and are so wrong
