A free seminar providing safeguarding advice for Keynsham clubs and organisations involving young people will be held in the Somerdale Room at Fry's Club on Wednesday 23 September, starting at 6.30pm and finishing at 8pm.
Clubright is a child protection initiative set up by Child-Safe and Avon and Somerset Constabulary which is delivered locally by Bath and North East Somerset Child-Safe Partnership Group.
Child-Safe is a registered international charity providing practical advice, and promoting the safety, welfare and pastoral care of children and young people involved in non-affiliated sport and community groups. This child protection initiative is about improving care, reducing opportunities of abuse in its widest sense and helping all those parents, carers, organisers and volunteers who are involved in supporting youngsters in such activities.
The scheme is entirely free of charge and provides clubs with a seminar and Clubright resource pack to enable them to put in place child protection measures.
Organisers, leaders, parents/carers, children and young people can feel more reassured that child protection will be taken seriously within clubs or community groups using this scheme.
To find out more and book a place at one of the free seminars, contact the Child-Safe Administrator on 01225 842473, or email tara.savage@avonandsomerset.police.uk. To find out more about the Child-Safe initiative, visit the Child-Safe website.
