My top five lunches in Keynsham and Saltford. Do you agree?

We're very spoilt in Keynsham and Saltford as to the number of places we can go out to eat. If you're out and about during the day and need a pit-stop, or if you can't be bothered to cook and even the thought of making a sandwich is too much, you can find a good lunch that pretty much caters for every taste.

Scampi and chips
The five eateries below are places where I have had a good meal. Do you agree? If not, where would you recommend?
Lock keeper - Keynsham Road – has a good selection of sandwiches, such as free range Cumberland sausage, and tuna and cheddar. They also do very nice ciabattas – I had the mozzarella and basil one – yum - and there's also cooked food if you are feeling ravenous. The staff are friendly, plus you have the benefit of a river view. www.lockkeeperbristol.com
Brassmill – Avon Mill Lane, Keynsham - A pleasant pub with a rustic feel and a useful place to meet friends coming in on the train. It offers a good selection of tradition pub grub, such as calamari, steak and a mixed grill. I had the chicken pie and apple crumble, both of which were very tasty. Friendly staff too. www.vintageinn.co.uk/thebrassmillkeynsham
Jolly Sailor De La Warre Ct, Saltford – I had a delicious, utterly retro scampi and chips here recently. The specials menu had a lot of fish dishes on it when I was there, while the main menu has a good choice of hearty meals, such as spag bol and leek and wild mushroom crumble. It's nice to see a decent choice for vegetarians too – most places only offer risotto, which I'm personally not a fan of. Friendly staff, and a river view too. www.jollysailorpub.com
The Riverside Inn, The Shallows, Saltford - has both a café and a restaurant, depending on what you want to eat and what time of day it is. There's a nice mix of pizzas, gourmet salads, burgers and steaks. I'm a big fan of moules mariniere, which they serve. One very intriguing item on the menu is kabanos carbonara – a mix of pasta and Polish sausage! I must try that when I next go. Nice staff and good atmosphere.
Coffee #1, Keynsham High Street – Really delicious coffee and a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. It's a useful addition to the High Street and a good place to meet friends or flop after shopping. The coffee aroma wafting outside from the shop is a real draw. They also serve Earl Grey tea – which makes me happy, as do the smiling staff! www.coffee1.co.uk

Nice choices. Coffee#1 is a great place to refuel after shopping.
