They don't stint on the portion sizes which is more than you can say for a lot of places, and the food is top quality. I can't say I noticed the lack of vegetables although I would question it if the kitchen sent out fish and chips with no peas!

A lovely historic spot for a relaxing meal, situated towards the end of the High Street. The Manor House is an oasis of calm in a very busy area - you forget you are in the 21st century as soon as you walk through the door.
Our waiter was very attentive and helpful.
I ordered what turned out to be a very generous portion of fish and chips. The chips were lovely and chunky, and the fish batter had a very nice lemony taste to it. I was only disappointed that there were no peas with it as it would have been a welcome addition. My friend ordered duck in a cherry sauce and mash, which again came with no veg - a bit of a surprise and disappointment. That said, she still polished it off.
The vanilla ice cream we ordered turned out to be ginger flavoured. I'm not a big fan of ginger, so I was grateful that it was quite a delicate flavour.
Lack of veggies and ice cream confusion aside, I would really recommend the Manor House Hotel. (I would also recommend management get rid of tubs of cereal and marmalade pouches from the dining room once breakfast is over, as it was slightly strange to see it there at lunchtime ).

ReportThe restaurant, complete with a stone fireplace, has an impressive menu that makes it the place to go for that very special occasion. It is an historic 17th century hotel believed to be the oldest dwelling house in Keynsham. Built in 1609, it was formerly the Abbot's house to the ancient abbey, which stood close to where St. John's church now stands.
The hotel is perfect for a romantic, relaxed get away. The warm atmosphere is ideal to sit and relax, chat to friends or colleagues or have a drink and read the highly acclaimed brasserie menu.
