Ideas to transform a former factory site into a residential-led mixed use development are to be the subject of a public exhibition in Bitton next week.
Property specialists Colliers International is seeking local people’s views on a draft concept for the redevelopment of the former Golden Valley Mill site in Bath Road, Bitton.
The site, owned MI Developments, was last occupied by Intier Automotives. It is proposed that the site will be redeveloped for around 150 homes, a care home and include a community employment use within a retained factory building.
A draft Concept Statement is being presented so that local people’s views can be obtained and taken into account before an amended Concept Statement submitted to the Council.
The exhibition will be held on Monday July 12 from 6pm to 9pm and on Thursday July 15 from 6pm to 9pm at Meadows Primary School, Bitton. The owner’s advisors will be on hand to explain the ideas and next stages.
Louise Seaman of Colliers International said: “Once the Concept Statement has been endorsed by South Gloucestershire Council it will help guide the consideration of future planning applications at the site. The existing factory premises are in a poor state of repair and the site has been vacant for some time. This is an opportunity for local people to consider the potential of this former factory site to deliver exciting new development.”
