Snow on Bath Hill, Keynsham in 2010
The latest weather forecasts are warning that snow could start falling in the area on Thursday night.
The next gritting run for lorries is at 9pm tonight, local farmers are on standby to help if needed, and highways inspectors will be monitoring conditions throughout the night.
However, drivers are still being asked to be very careful out on the roads.
With temperatures dropping to -1C overnight, even if rain falls rather than snow, it could make for some dangerously icy driving conditions well ãÂÂinto the morning.
The back roads between Keynsham and Whitchurch were particularly treacherous on Saturday night, with cars skidding and crashing on the ice.
Bath and North East Somerset Council will be alerting residents to any disruptions of services via its Twitter feed @bathnes.
