Street theatre: Frack the World Inc get their message across to Keynsham people
It's a big issue for Keynsham people as energy firm UK Methane wants to frack for shale gas at Durley Hill.
The screening of Josh Fox's Gasland from 7pm at Community @ 67, the new resource centre in what was the old post office in Queens Road, follows a performance in Keynsham town centre at the weekend when the Frack the World Inc street theatre group set up a mock fracking rig outside Victoria Methodist Church.
Frack Free Somerset is a coalition of groups raising awareness of forms of "extreme energy" such as hydraulic fracturing - fracking.
Just before Christmas UK Methane withdrew its application to drill for coalbed methane at Durley Hill, advising Bath & North East Somerset Council that it planned instead to submit an application for production which would include shale gas.
Opponents of fracking are concerned that the fracking process contaminates the air, drinking water and river systems.
