Rehman smashes 12 sixes in Portway's big victory

MATCHES in the North Somerset Conference were again badly hit by wet weather.
The stand-out performance came from Portway's Rehman Butt in a 141-run win over Beckington in Division Five of the Sunday Conference.
Butt cracked 12 sixes in his 136 as Portway totalled 251-4. Bobby Naeem then took 4-23 as Beckington were bowled out for 110.
In Sunday Conference Division One, United Bristol Hospitals won by six wickets after bowling Clevedon out for 122.
Andy Payne (37) and Stefan Brellisford (26) were the main contributors to the Clevedon total, while Larry Bridgemount was the chief destroyer with 4-24. Rob Kendall (35) and Ajay Bhatt (28) guided UBH to victory.
In Division Three, Ashish Shinde made an unbeaten 112 as Bristol Bangladeshi totalled 200-9 against Blagdon, who were dismissed for 60. Paresh Ibadh took the bowling honours with 6-6.
In Division Four, Winford could only muster 45 against Peasedown St John. Ben Saunder (4-16) and George Wilcox (3-4) did most of the damage, while Hayden Lyons (14) was the only batsman to make double figures.
Dan Garrett (26 not out) led Peasedown to an eight-wicket success.
The only game in the Saturday Conference to reach a conclusion was in Division Two, where Avonside beat Timsbury by eight wickets.
Russ Simkins took 3-14 as Timsbury were bowled out for 75, despite 23 from Ben Curtis, and then an unbeaten 27 from Colin Willie secured victory.
Also in Division Two, Exiles were bowled out for 136 against Keynsham, who reached 42-3 before play was abandoned.
In Division Four, Shaun Todd made 73 and Shane Sheppard scored 37 as Old Park totalled 196-9 against Grendel, who were unable to start their reply due to rain.
