Music man makes dreams come true

A group of very special children are to take a weekend dream trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris thanks to music man Grenville Jones.
The children are all members of the Super Saturday Club and their trip is down to the efforts of Mr Jones who has raised £20,000 to finance the super dream holiday.
Club leader and parent Kim Coles, from Paulton, is absolutely delighted.
She said: "Grenville is a very special man who has supported our very special children. He has pulled out all the stops and has supported us in so many ways."
It was Ms Coles's determination that members of the club, who all have disabilities, should be able to enjoy a Christmas concert that got choir leader and Goldies singing charity founder Mr Jones involved.
She had attempted the concert herself but after reading in the Somerset Guardian about Mr Jones and the work he does with the Goldies singing groups she got in contact with him. In December 2011, he led a fun Christmas sing-a-long for the club.
Members are children from across the Bath, Keynsham and Midsomer Norton area and meet every Saturday morning at Three Ways School in Bath.
They have a variety of needs and the conditions the children have include Down's Syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, global development delay and Williams Syndrome. Some of the children have severe communication difficulties and also have additional conditions such as epilepsy.
When Mr Jones found out how important it was for the children to go away on organised trips, he set himself the Disneyland target.
He said: "The response has just been fantastic with individual donations from £5 to £250 as well as many of the groups organising special events."
Among the organisations helping out was Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club which raised £600, while organisers of the regular quiz at the Compton Inn at Compton Dando donated £2,700.
Mr Jones sponsored the production of a Christmas CD which featured five of his choirs and raised £5,000.
The Super Saturday Club, part of Mencap Keynsham, will set off from Keynsham on Friday, May 10.
