Keynsham MP Jacob Rees-Mogg spoke about the importance of good manners
The Conservative MP said that the Chief Whip had been right to apologise to police officers in Downing Street for his rant.
Mr Rees-Mogg said: "I think people in public life ought to show good manners to the electorate... and the police are part of that electorate. I am not in favour of people being impolite to people who are serving them and their country."
Mr Mitchell has denied claims that he called the police "plebs" but has apologised for his lack of respect.
