Keynsham Library will be closing for two days next month for essential maintenance to sort out a leaking roof
The scheduled work is intended sort out the problem of a leaking roof which has meant the library has been forced to close during the recent exceptionally wet weather.
Keynsham Library is currently in a temporary home, opposite the entrance to Keynsham Leisure Centre, in readiness for the redevelopment of the Town Hall site.
As the work will require the use of scaffolding, it will not be possible for customers to be in the library.
Cllr David Dixon, Bath & North East Somerset Council's cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: "The council appreciates that our library visitors may find this frustrating but we have to complete these works as soon as possible in order to resolve the issue and make it safe for our customers and staff.
"We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding."
Anyone who has items to be returned on either the Monday or Tuesday will have their item dates moved to Thursday, November 8.
Customers can also renew by calling 01225 394041, or with their membership number and PIN by visiting the website www.librarieswest.org.uk
