Gym equipment from the Olympic Park is installed at new Wellsway Sports Centre in Keynsham

Wellsway School at Keynsham is inviting the community to view its new £3.25m sports centre this weekend before it officially opens to the general public on Monday (January 14).

The centre, which students are already using, has a large sports hall, state-of-the-art fitness suite which has recently taken delivery of gym equipment from the Olympic Park in London, a dance/activities studio and changing and shower facilities.

People have the chance to tour the building and meet sports and fitness manager Mark Collins and his staff from 10am to 3pm today and tomorrow before the centre opens its doors for community use at 5pm on Monday.

Facilities at the centre will be open every evening, Monday to Friday, from 5pm to 10pm (the hall from 6pm).

It will also be open from 8am to 6pm on Saturdays and from 8am to 9pm on Sundays.
