Marian McQuade is recognised across the world as the founder of Grandparents’ Day after she campaigned for a national holiday to honour the older generation’s contribution to society and the family. Grandparents’ Day was eventually brought over to the UK by Age Concern in 1990 and has been growing in popularity ever since.
