Fundraising Group Launches Quiz Night events

A volunteer fundraising group in Keynsham that raise funds for Kingswood based charity; The Jessie May Trust will be holding a quiz night on the first Tuesday of each month with the first event taking place this coming Tuesday 4th October at The Brassmill, Avon mill lane, Keynsham at 8pm.

The group's chairperson; Michelle Kingston says 'it's just £6 to enter a team of 2 - 6 people and we have great prizes on offer for winning teams. We are a bit nervous about our first quiz night and hope that people will come. We have been offered a super venue free of charge and we'd like to make the most of that opportunity to support our charity'

The group's first event; a family fun day held in July raised £308 for the Jessie May Trust and its success inspired the quiz nights. Future fundraising plans include a grand Christmas draw and a spring fete; some members will also be taking part in the Bristol 10K in May.

Group member Amy Llewellyn says 'This is a very special charity that provides respite and nursing care for over 60 children and families in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. I have had the privileged of meeting some of the brave families who are supported by the charity and have seen the difference the nursing care makes to them. Our group is aiming to raise £2000 a year which will enable Jessie May to provide 100 hours of care locally.'
