TV crews will be moving into Keynsham next week to film a dramatic car crash stunt for EastEnders.

Parts of Temple Street and Rock Road will be closed overnight from Monday to Friday for the filming at The Centre which is awaiting demolition in preparation for the £34m town redevelopment.

Diversions will be in place between 6pm and 6am.

Although the BBC has not confirmed what programme the scenes are being filmed for, sources have told Keynsham People that it is for an episode of EastEnders and there has also been speculation on Twitter.

The action is believed to involve a car losing control and crashing into the front of the old Peacocks store, causing a fireball.

Keynsham Fire Station will respond to any emergencies during the filming.

So is someone being written out of EastEnders? Anyone hazard a guess?

I'm with DaveWeston on this one - gave it up years ago as couldn't stand all the violence and the overuse of "we need ta tawk". In May I gave up the other 2 soaps I have watched for 40 (Emmerdale) and 50 (Corrie) years as they were getting too parallel and "brat-packy" with outlandish plots and all the old humerous characters have gone. And life goes on without them it seems!

Jezer - are we by any chance talking a Pye Poppet under the pillow, Radio Luxembourg and Horace Bachelor????? Ah, memories!

EastEnders cast members Marc Elliott and John Partridge, who play gay lovers Syed Masood and Christian Clarke, are to be written out of the BBC One soap.

    Maybe a clue . . .
