Costa Coffee is planning to open in the old Clinton Cards unit in Keynsham High Street.

A Costa Coffee shop is being planned for the empty Clinton Cards unit in Keynsham
The South West Coffee franchise, which runs several Costa branches in Bristol, has applied to Bath & North East Somerset Council to change the use of the card shop at No 50 to a coffee shop, opening from 7am to 8pm.
The Keynsham branch of Clinton Cards closed in June, one of the victims of a 350-store closure prorgramme by administrators.
The unit is opposite Coffee#1 which opened two years ago. Also close by is the independent Café Crème while in Temple Street there is Pomegranate cafe and The Coffee Shop at Bath Bakery.

ReportI'm with Ducky and Peace of Mind on this one. Visit somewhere that has some attractions and perhaps have a coffee...personally more likely a beer (but each to his or her own).....if there is nothing to attract me I won't go there. Simples. I dont really find coffee and charity shops that appealing......

Report'It is a recognised fact, agreed by the council, that there too few sit down venues of this nature in Keynsham, sonething that is not good for the town.'
Which Keynsham are you referring to????? Do we not already have a large Coffee#1, an urban expresso,/cafe creme in addition to pomegrantes, the bread basket, taste buds, parsons, even bar one nine is also a cafe. We'll soon have enough coffee shops to rival the ridiculous number of charity shops in Keynsham.

ReportCome into the real world "Happy". Its not as if Keynsham is a tourist town with lots of visitors wanting coffee etc and if you look at the plans for the new build there seems to be cafes etc included on that site., though I suppose the visitors that come for the charity shops need somewhere to have a snack!!!!! Costa already sell their produce at the Chandag Garage and at the Talbot. We need shops that will draw people into Keynsham plus for the use of residents. At this rate Keynsham will have more coffee shops than Bath and that is saying something. People do not visit places just for the coffee shops, it needs more than that!
