Changes to Keynsham Bus Services & 318 route axed
By scott_s9 | Friday, October 19, 2012, 14:33
As of 4th November, First Bus will be axing the 318 bus service which operates between Keynsham & Cribbs Causeway.
This leaves people wishing to make a journey from Keynsham to Cribbs Causeway with no other alterative than getting 2 buses to make this journey. Choice 1) 349 service to Broadmead, then either 1, 54, 40, 73, to Cribbs Causeway. Choice 2) The hourly Wessex Connect operated 533 service to Kingswood, and then the 319 service to Cribbs Causeway from Kingswood.
The frequency of the 319 service will change to every half an hour from every hour. For Monday to Saturday evening and all-day Sunday connections to Kingswood from Keynsham, the 42 service that currently operates between the Centre & Bitton, which runs via Lawrence Hill, St George, Kingswood, Warmley & Oldland Common, will have it's route extended to Keynsham from Bitton.
First have also axed the 349 Keynsham to Broadmead service. Abus are to become the sole operator of this service which will have it's frequency dropped from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes.
In place of First no longer operating the 349 service, First are to bring in a new 338 service that will run every half an hour between Broadmead & Bath via Keynsham (the current 339 route).
These changes were outlined on the Travel Bristol website in a PDF but it seems to be currently unavailable! http://www.travelbristol.org/sites/default/files/Bus%20service%20changes%20from%204%20November%202012_0.pdf
First Bus taking off vital bus routes. "We believe there should be a bus when you need one" - What rubbish!

ReportWith only two weeks to go before these changes take place, these new timetables, like the bus service, is rather late arriving.

Report318 is withdrawn and is replaced by the following
319 increased to every 30 mins
507 is extended from Kingswood to Keynsham every hour
42 is extended to Keynsham (mon - sat eves and all day sunday)
349 Abus Centre - Keynsham every 30 mins
338 First Bristol - Bath every 30 mins (Following late evening 649 route)
So Bristol Centre - Keynsham sees an increased service to every 15 mins (Not including 178)
And new links direct to Southmead yes if you wish to go to Cribbs Causeway you will need to change buses but overall there are more links to Keynsham.
