The British Red Cross and Emergency Support Service based at Keynsham Fire Station is unveiling its new vehicle this weekend.
The service provides round-the-clock support to people affected by fire and floods across the Avon Fire & Rescue Service area.
FESS is currently using an 11-year-old loan vehicle in place of its original 15-year-old modified motor home which was no longer economical to keep on the road.
On Saturday (October 6) from noon to 3pm the new customised Fiat Ducato will be unveiled at a launch event at the fire station. People will get the chance to meet the volunteers, look at the vehicle and find out what FESS is all about.
The vehicle has toilet and shower facilities and refreshments, as well as storage spaced for specialist equipment. It has more seating than the old one, is faster and more manoeuvrable.
