The Co-op says it has has had an "overwhelming" number of applications from Keynsham people who want to work at a new store being built at the old Wingrove pub.

The pub, on the corner of Queens Road and Tenby Road in Keynsham, is being redeveloped as a community food store which will create up to 20 new jobs.
The pub was put up for sale almost two years ago with an asking price of £225,000 for the freehold.
Southern Co-operative said today that its plans to open the new store in mid-May although an exact date is yet to be confirmed.
A spokeswoman said that around 15 to 20 new full- and part-time jobs will be created for local people and at a recruitment open day held at the Fear Institute last Thursday there had been more than 150 applications.
Southern Co-operative runs around 170 community stores including the large store in Broadmead Lane in Keynsham.
